Most people are not naturally positive. It’s easy to be positive when things are going well for you or as you planned. It takes a lot of practice to be positive when you don’t really want to be. It is in those moments when you really don’t want to be bothered or when your life seems to be in a whirlwind when being positive counts the most. It is in these moments when we must remember to treat people how we want to be treated (despite our personal problems). It is in these moments when we must say our positive affirmations and live through our values and be accountable for our actions. Think of a funny moment or something that brings you joy and keep that in the forefront of your mind instead of focusing on the things that are making you cringe momentarily. Believe it or not, smiling when we don’t want to can trigger “happy” feelings and put us in a better mood.
